About MeetAlarm
- Will it cut through Silent and Focus mode?
- Yes. MeetAlarm uses iOS 26 system alarms (AlarmKit), so it rings just like the system Clock alarm.
- Do I need an account? Will my calendar be uploaded?
- No account needed, and your calendar is never uploaded. Everything runs on-device.
- Which meeting platforms are supported?
- Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Webex, Tencent Meeting / VooV, Lark / Feishu, DingTalk, FaceTime, and plain phone dial-in.
- Which iOS versions are supported?
- iOS 26.0 and later. MeetAlarm relies on AlarmKit, which is iOS 26+ only. It is iPhone-only — there is no Android version.
- Can I use it for free?
- Yes. Real alarms that cut through Silent, one-tap join, one calendar, your choice of meetings-only or every timed event, and an adjustable default lead time are all free.
- Can it ring for events that aren't meetings?
- Yes. Turn off “Meetings only” in your calendar's rules and every timed event rings — appointments, interviews, flights, pickups. All-day events are skipped by default. And if something never made it to your calendar at all, tap + and add it as a manual event. Both work on the free plan.
- Do I need to open the app for alarms to stay in sync?
- Occasionally, yes — iOS limits background work, so MeetAlarm re-syncs with your calendar when you open it (and opportunistically in the background). You never have to guess: the Home Screen widget nudges you when your calendar changed and a sync is due, and the bottom of the timeline always shows “Alarms set through <date>”.
- How is “leave on time” calculated?
- It uses your location and Apple Maps to estimate live travel time (only while the app is open), then subtracts travel time and a buffer from the start time. This is a Pro feature.
- Is my data safe?
- There is no server and no analytics. Delete the app and everything is cleared.
Calendar alarm not ringing
- Why doesn't my iPhone calendar alert make any sound?
- Calendar alerts are notifications, and iOS mutes notifications whenever the Silent switch is on or a Focus mode is active. No calendar setting overrides that — only a real system alarm rings through Silent and Focus, which is what MeetAlarm schedules for your events.
- Does the Time Sensitive setting fix it?
- Partially. Time Sensitive notifications can break through Focus modes, but they still respect the Silent switch. If your phone is muted, a Time Sensitive calendar alert is still silent.
- Can the Clock app ring for calendar events?
- Not automatically. Clock alarms are real alarms, but they know nothing about your calendar — you'd have to create and update one by hand for every event. MeetAlarm automates exactly that, using the same class of system alarm.
- Does this work with Google Calendar, Exchange or iCloud?
- Yes. MeetAlarm reads any account that appears in the iPhone Calendar app — iCloud, Google, Exchange/Outlook, and CalDAV. If you can see the event in the Calendar app, it can ring as a real alarm.
- Will alarms still fire if the app is closed?
- Yes. Alarms are scheduled with the system, so they fire even if the app isn't running — the same guarantee the built-in Clock app has.
Silent mode meeting alarm
- Can an iPhone alarm ring when the phone is on Silent?
- Yes. Real system alarms — Clock-app alarms and AlarmKit alarms — always sound through the Silent switch and every Focus mode. That is their defining difference from notifications, which are always muted by Silent.
- How do I make meeting reminders ring when my iPhone is muted?
- Turn the reminder into a real alarm. Either set a Clock alarm by hand for each meeting (works on every iPhone), or use an app like MeetAlarm that turns your calendar events into system alarms automatically.
- Does the Time Sensitive setting make Calendar ring on Silent?
- No. Time Sensitive notifications can break through Focus modes, but they still respect the Silent switch — a muted iPhone stays silent. Only a real alarm rings through both.
- Do automatic meeting alarms work on my iPhone?
- Automatic calendar alarms rely on Apple's AlarmKit framework, which requires iOS 26 or later. On earlier iOS versions the reliable route is manual Clock alarms — they ring through Silent on every iPhone, they just don't sync with your calendar.
- Will a meeting alarm ring during Do Not Disturb or Sleep Focus?
- Yes. Real alarms ring through Do Not Disturb, Sleep and every other Focus mode — the same guarantee your morning Clock alarm has. MeetAlarm's two-stage option adds a gentler first nudge if a full ring feels like too much.
- Doesn't vibration already cover me on Silent?
- Only partially. Notifications can vibrate on a muted iPhone if haptics are enabled, but a single buzz in a pocket or on a desk is easy to miss — and it never repeats. An alarm keeps ringing until you respond.
Choosing a calendar alarm app
- What is the best calendar alarm app for iPhone?
- The one that passes five checks: a real AlarmKit alarm engine (requires iOS 26 — earlier minimums mean notifications), useful action after the ring (one-tap join, dial-in, leave-on-time), automatic sync that follows reschedules and cancellations, a privacy label that says Data Not Collected, and a free tier you can actually live with. - Why does the app need iOS 26?
- Real system alarms for third-party apps only exist as of iOS 26, via Apple's AlarmKit framework. An app that supports older iOS versions is necessarily using notifications for those users — and notifications stay silent when the Silent switch is on. The iOS 26 requirement is the simplest authenticity check in this category.
- Do these apps work with Google Calendar and Outlook?
- Yes, but by two very different routes. Some apps sync Google or Microsoft accounts through their own servers, which moves your calendar data off the device. Apps like MeetAlarm read the iPhone's built-in calendar database instead — any account visible in the Calendar app (iCloud, Google, Exchange, CalDAV) works, and nothing leaves the phone.
- Can these apps ring for things that aren't meetings?

Zoom meeting alarm
- Do I need to connect my Zoom account?
- No. MeetAlarm never talks to Zoom's servers — it reads the Zoom link straight from the calendar event on your iPhone and opens the Zoom app when you tap Join.
- Does it work with recurring Zoom meetings and personal meeting rooms?

DingTalk meeting alarm
- Do I need to sign in to DingTalk?
- No. MeetAlarm never talks to DingTalk's servers — it reads the link from the calendar event on your iPhone and opens the DingTalk app when you tap Join.
- How does a DingTalk meeting get recognized?
- It needs to be in your iPhone calendar — accepted via email invite, synced through an Exchange/CalDAV account, or an event containing the DingTalk link. If the Calendar app shows it, MeetAlarm can take over.
- Will it ring on Silent or in Focus mode?

- Do I need to connect my Feishu or Lark account?
- No. MeetAlarm never talks to Feishu's servers — it reads the meeting link from the calendar event on your iPhone and opens the Feishu/Lark app when you tap Join.
- How does a Feishu meeting get recognized?
- It needs to appear in your iPhone calendar — via email invitation, CalDAV/Exchange sync from Feishu calendar, or an event containing the meeting link. If the Calendar app shows it, MeetAlarm can take over.
- Will it ring on Silent or in Focus mode?

- Is this an ADHD planner or to-do app?

It doesn't replace your planner, task manager or body-doubling setup; it makes sure the moment to act on them can't slip past silently.
- I don't really keep a calendar. Is this useless for me?
- The biggest win still comes from automation: even a loosely kept calendar becomes a set of guaranteed rings with zero nightly effort. But one-off critical moments no longer need a calendar entry — add them directly in the app in thirty seconds (the free plan keeps two at a time). And if you notice yourself adding the same thing every week, that's the signal it belongs on the calendar, where MeetAlarm follows it automatically.
- Will it really ring if my phone is on Silent or in a Focus mode?

- I hyperfocus and lose hours. How does a countdown help?

Appointment alarms
- Will it ring for appointments that have no attendees or link?

- Does it ring through Silent and Do Not Disturb?

- Can it remind me when to leave for the appointment?

- The appointment isn't on my calendar — I only have a paper slip or a text message.

Interview alarms
- Will it ring even on Silent or in a Focus mode?

- The interview is on Zoom / Teams / Google Meet — does one-tap join work?

Flight & train alarms
- Will it wake me for an early-morning flight if my phone is on Silent or sleep Focus?
- Yes. MeetAlarm schedules real iOS 26 system alarms (AlarmKit) — the same class as your wake-up alarm. Silent, Do Not Disturb and sleep Focus don't mute it.
- Does it track delays and gate changes?
- No — and that's a deliberate boundary. MeetAlarm has no server and reads only your calendar, so it rings on the schedule you committed to. Use your airline's app for live status; use MeetAlarm to make sure you're moving when you planned to move.
- How do flights get onto my calendar in the first place?
- Usually automatically: Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail turn airline confirmations into calendar events. Anything that shows up in the iPhone Calendar app — iCloud, Google, Exchange — can become a real alarm in MeetAlarm.
- Can it tell me when to leave for the airport?
- Yes — put the airport in the event's location and the leave-on-time alarm (Pro) fires at start time minus live travel time minus your buffer, with one-tap directions. On the free plan, set a generous fixed lead time per event instead.
- Does this work for trains and buses too?
- Yes — any timed event on your calendar rings, and the tighter the boarding window, the more a leave-by alarm matters. High-speed rail with a 2-minute boarding cutoff is exactly the use case.
One-time alarms
- Can I set an iPhone alarm for a specific date?
- Not with the built-in Clock app — its alarms repeat by time of day and have no date field. MeetAlarm can: tap +, enter a title, pick a date and time, and it schedules a real iOS 26 system alarm that rings once on that date.
- Does it really ring on Silent and in Focus modes?

- What happens after the alarm rings?

- A reminder is a notification, so Silent mode and Focus can swallow it. A one-time alarm in MeetAlarm is a system alarm that must ring. Use Reminders for things that can wait; use an alarm for a moment you can't miss.
- How many one-time alarms can I have on the free plan?

Shift alarms
- Will it wake me for a night shift if my phone is on Silent or in Sleep Focus?
- Yes. MeetAlarm schedules genuine iOS 26 system alarms (AlarmKit) — the same class as Clock alarms. Full-screen, audible through Silent and any Focus, ringing until you respond. It is not a notification.
- My rotation changes every week. Do I have to re-enter alarms?
- No. MeetAlarm schedules alarms from whatever is on your calendar and re-syncs as it changes. Swap a shift on the roster and the alarm moves with it; drop a shift and its alarm is removed.
- How do I get my work schedule into my iPhone calendar?
- Three ways: subscribe to a calendar feed if your scheduling tool offers one (NurseGrid, Deputy, When I Work and many others export an iCal/.ics link — add it once in iOS Settings); add shifts to any calendar by hand; or use MeetAlarm's + button with the shift preset for one-off shifts.
- Does the shift calendar count against the free plan?
- Free includes one calendar — so if your roster lives in one subscribed calendar, the whole workflow is free. Pro unlocks unlimited calendars and per-calendar rules, plus two-stage alarms and leave-on-time.
- Can it ring both before the shift and when I need to leave?

Date alarms
- Can the iPhone Clock app set an alarm for a specific date?
- No — Clock alarms repeat by time of day and have no date field. MeetAlarm schedules a real iOS 26 system alarm (AlarmKit) for any specific date and time, and it rings once on that date.
- Will it ring through Silent and Focus?
- Yes. It's a genuine system alarm, the same class as Clock alarms — full-screen, audible through Silent and Focus, ringing until you respond. It is not a notification.
- Can it ring before the deadline instead of at it?
- Yes — that's the point of the lead time. Set the alarm to ring hours or days ahead of the moment, so you have time to act. The deadline preset prefills this; you can adjust it per alarm.
- How is this different from a Reminder with a date?
- A Reminder delivers a notification, which Silent mode and Focus can suppress. A date alarm in MeetAlarm is a system alarm that must ring. Use Reminders for things that can wait; use an alarm for a date you can't afford to miss.
- How far ahead can I set a date alarm?
- Months ahead is fine — pick any future date. If the date is on your calendar as an event, MeetAlarm covers it automatically as the date approaches; manual date alarms you set yourself are scheduled directly.
- How many date alarms does the free plan include?
- Free keeps up to two upcoming manual alarms at a time, with every field included. Pro removes the limit. Alarms from your calendar are separate and not affected.
Voice alarms
- Can Siri set a Clock alarm for a specific date?
- No. Clock alarms repeat by time of day and have no date field, whether you set them by voice or by hand. MeetAlarm is how you get a dated, titled, one-time system alarm out of Siri: say “Add an event in MeetAlarm”.
- What exactly do I say?
- In English: “Add an event in MeetAlarm”. In Chinese, the app is called 会议闹钟, so: 「在会议闹钟加一个日程」. Siri then asks for the title and time, or you can pack everything into one sentence.
- Do I need to open the app?
- No. The alarm is scheduled from the Siri conversation itself. The app is only needed later if you want to edit the event — add a link, a place, or change the lead time.
- What if I say a time that already passed?
- Siri tells you and asks again. MeetAlarm refuses to schedule an alarm into the past rather than pretending it worked.
- How many voice-added alarms can I have for free?
- Voice-added alarms are manual events, so the free plan keeps up to two upcoming ones at a time — every field included. Pro removes the count limit. Alarms from your calendar are separate and unlimited on both plans.
- Is my voice or event data uploaded?
- Siri's speech handling is Apple's, on Apple's terms. What MeetAlarm receives — a title and a time — stays on your device. No server, no account, no analytics; the App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
Monthly recap
- Is the monthly recap free?
- Yes, fully — no Pro gate, no locked statistics, no upsell on the card. It works the same on the free plan as on Pro.
- Where do I find it?
- Three places: the recap button at the top of the timeline, the summary row at the bottom of the timeline, and Settings. New months appear automatically — no setup.
- Does it send notifications?
- No. The recap never pushes, pings or nags. It waits in the app until you feel like looking.
- What does the “skipped” line mean?
- Alarms you deliberately told MeetAlarm to skip — a cancelled meeting, a day off. The card counts them as decisions you made, because staying in control of what rings is the point.
- Does saving the card need access to my photos?
- Only add-only access: iOS lets MeetAlarm put that one image into your library without being able to see, read or browse anything already in it.
- Is any of this data uploaded?
- No. The tally is computed and stored on your device, with roughly the last 14 months kept. No server, no account, no analytics — the App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
